Monastir del Camp

The Monastir del Camp features a single-nave church constructed of local stone, with its white marble portal displaying intricate carved decorations.

The monastery, established in the 11th century, was originally inhabited by Augustinian canons until 1786 when the Jaubert de Passa family acquired the property.

The marble portal sculptures demonstrate the craftsmanship of the Master of Cabestany, a renowned artist who worked extensively in the region during medieval times.

The monastery welcomes visitors from Friday to Wednesday between 3 PM and 5 PM in low season, with extended hours until 6 PM during summer months.

The gothic cloister incorporates distinctive three-lobed arches from the 14th century, setting it apart from other monasteries in the Pyrénées-Orientales region.
