Château de Vouzan

Château de Vouzan is a castle in Charente featuring architecture from different periods of construction. Its northern side displays watchtowers reinforced by buttresses, with a polygonal tower woven into the surrounding modern structures.

The chapel on the grounds dates to the 12th century, while the northern facade was built in the 15th century under the Livenne family. The d'Abzac family later took control and shaped the property through the 18th century.

The castle served as home to noble families across several centuries, each leaving their mark on the property. Their presence shaped how the buildings and grounds developed over time.

A square dovecote still stands in the park surrounding the main structure, offering a glimpse of rural life from earlier centuries. Archaeological remains scattered across the grounds hint at a longer history than the visible buildings suggest.
