Abbaye Notre-Dame du Pesquié, Benedictine monastery in Serres-sur-Arget, France.
The Notre-Dame du Pesquié Abbey occupies 80 hectares of agricultural land in the Pyrenean mountains, approximately ten kilometers from the town of Foix.
The community began in Dourgne, Tarn in 1890 under Mother Marie Cronier, relocating multiple times before establishing their current location in 1991.
The fifty nuns divide their daily schedule between six hours of prayer and agricultural work, maintaining traditional Benedictine practices in modern times.
The monastery shop sells locally produced cheese, honey, jams, cakes, gingerbread, and handcrafted items including bookbinding and liturgical ornaments every day except Saturday.
The abbey church, dedicated in October 2017, incorporates architectural elements inspired by the medieval abbeys of Sénanque, Thoronet, and Silvacane.
