Abbaye d'Hamage

Abbaye d'Hamage is a Benedictine monastery in Wandignies-Hamage with stone buildings arranged around a central cloister. The complex includes a large storage building and preserves a chapel with a medieval sandstone facade and pointed arch doorway.

The abbey was established in the early 7th century and became the first monastic community of its kind in northern France. Over time it developed into an agricultural center where monks managed farmland and stored resources for the region.
