Abbaye de Fonmorigny, abbey located in Nièvre, in France
Abbaye de Fonmorigny is a former Cistercian abbey located in Nevers with roots going back to the 12th century. The site still contains remains of the cloister and outbuildings that show how monks lived and worked within the monastery.
The abbey was founded in the 12th century and served as a center of monastic life for centuries. Following the French Revolution, the complex was secularized and gradually lost its original religious purpose.
The site is accessible on foot and the remains can be viewed outdoors. Visit during dry weather as stone paths and foundations become slippery when wet.
