Archéa

Archéa is an archaeological museum in a modern building with three floors that houses artifacts and scientific collections from the local region. The space is divided between exhibition areas for visitors and storage areas for research work.

The museum opened in 2010 to preserve and display finds from archaeological digs across the Île-de-France region. The collected objects come from excavation work that took place over several decades.

The permanent exhibition tells the story of how people lived in this region through reconstructed homes and everyday objects on display. You can see what daily life looked like across different periods of time.

The museum is easy to access with parking spaces, elevators, and accessible restrooms for all visitors. There is also a documentary center and a lecture room available for educational events.

A French photographer's artwork with a symbolic key greets visitors at the entrance. The key creates a visual connection with the nearby Saint-Rieul Tower and links contemporary art to the historical building.
