Cairn de Gavrinis, Cairn in France
The Cairn de Gavrinis is an impressive ancient monument, made up of a megalithic tomb located on the island of Gavrinis.
Dating back to 3500-3300 BC, it's considered one of the most important Passage Graves still remaining in Europe.
In Breton language, 'Gavr Inis' means 'goat island', which is supposed to be a Celtic wireless station aimed at communicating with the God of the Sun.
It’s located on the southern coast of Brittany and lays on a small island which is accessible by boat.
Its intricate interior stone engravings make it a testament of artistic creativity during Neolithic age.
