Caserne Thiry, Military barracks in Nancy, France.

The Caserne Thiry consists of three identical buildings arranged around a rectangular courtyard, with a decorated pediment facing Rue Sainte-Catherine.

Built between 1765 and 1769 by architect Richard Mique under Louis XV's commission, the barracks marked the integration of Lorraine into France.

The architectural elements of Caserne Thiry represent classical French military design, incorporating symmetrical structures and formal geometric arrangements.

The complex continues to serve military functions, housing the Army, CIRAT, and military fuel services within its protected historical walls.

Emperor Franz Joseph, after inspecting the facility, declared these barracks among the most efficient military structures across Europe.
