Château d'Arnouville, Historic castle in Arnouville, France

The Château d'Arnouville is a castle featuring a prominent east wing with 18 windows, an upper ground floor, and classical French facade skylights. The property includes an orangery with Doric decoration and a pond situated in front of it.

This castle was built between 1751 and 1757 for Jean-Baptiste Machault d'Arnouville, a minister under King Louis XV. The architects Pierre Contant d'Ivry and Jean-Michel Chevotet created the design as an expression of classical French architecture from that period.

The chapel at the eastern end displays skilled craftsmanship in its brick and plaster dome construction. You can see how the builders combined materials and techniques to create both strength and visual grace.

The castle is located at 35 Avenue Paul Mazurier and sits near several other cultural sites including the National Renaissance Museum in Écouen and the Air and Space Museum in Le Bourget. Its position makes it a convenient stop when visiting nearby attractions in the area.

The orangery building features a fireplace decorated in the Louis XV style with Doric ornaments. This separate structure with its reflecting pond in front reflects the layout favored by French nobility of the period.
