Château de la Motte

Château de la Motte is a protected castle in Stains with an entrance pavilion from the 18th century featuring Rocaille architecture with ornate stone carvings and decorative details. The site is surrounded by water-filled moats that were historically fed by a nearby stream.

The Motte fief appears in records from 1361, when Jean de Gensy declared it as part of the Montmorency estate. This property remained under the influence of the powerful Montmorency family for centuries afterward.
