Town hall of Stains

The Town Hall of Stains is a municipal administrative building located north of Paris with four prominent arcades framing a monumental gateway. The structure combines classical architectural elements with practical interior spaces for handling resident services and official records.

Following destruction in the 1870 conflict, the community purchased former stable buildings in 1883 that architect Villebesseys redesigned as a town hall. This transformation marked the shift from a rural area to an organized municipal center.

This building plays a central role in local life, serving as a gathering point for residents managing official matters and community events. The structure's design reflects the aspirations of a growing suburb establishing its own identity.

The building is centrally located in Stains and easily accessible by foot or public transport from the surrounding neighborhoods. The distinctive arcades and main entrance are clearly visible from the street level.

A section of the entrance portico originates from the medieval Chateau de la Motte and was carefully preserved when the building was created. This architectural remnant received historical monument protection in 1933.
