Château de Châteaugiron, Medieval fortress in Châteaugiron, France

The castle features four remaining towers, including a 38-meter-high keep and the Clock Tower, connected by defensive walls and surrounded by gardens.

Built in the 12th century and modified in the 15th century by Jean de Derval, the castle developed from a military stronghold into an 18th-century residence.

The castle houses the Gourdel Museum, dedicated to local sculptors Julien and Pierre Gourdel, showcasing their artistic contributions to regional heritage.

Access to the castle requires joining guided tours, which include climbing 100 steps to meet Henriette, the historical bell in the Clock Tower.

The castle chapel retains its 12th-century Romanesque choir with round-arched windows and recently restored medieval wall paintings discovered in 2007.
