Château de Domeyrat

The stone castle sits on a rocky peak overlooking the Senouire River valley, featuring four round towers at each corner of its rectangular structure.

Built in the 12th century by the Papabeuf family, the castle underwent major renovations in the 15th century under the ownership of the Langheac family.

Two of the castle's towers contain 16th-century wall paintings depicting hunting scenes and religious themes, representing medieval artistic expressions.

The Haute-Loire department manages the castle through an association that organizes medieval-themed activities and preservation efforts throughout the year.

The castle's architecture combines both military defensive elements and residential features, reflecting its dual purpose during the Middle Ages.
