Château de Folleville, Medieval castle in Folleville, France

The fortified structure features multiple defensive elements including a watchtower, arrow slits, machicolations, and protective ditches surrounding the rectangular main building.

During the Hundred Years War in 1440, English captain John Talbot captured the castle using field artillery to overcome its fortifications.

The castle grounds host an annual medieval festival since 2003, presenting activities that recreate life from the Middle Ages.

The castle welcomes visitors from May through September, Wednesday to Saturday, with guided tours available at an additional cost of 3.50 euros.

King Francis I stayed at the castle in 1544, where he issued an official decree concerning the Peace Treaty of Crépy-en-Laonnois.
