Château de Saint-Agil

The castle forms a quadrilateral structure with fifteen-meter-wide moats and features a brick and stone pavilion entrance flanked by two defensive towers.

Antoine de La Vove constructed the castle at the end of the 15th century on the foundation of a 13th-century fortress, adding a postern in 1510.

The castle exemplifies the architectural evolution from medieval fortification to Renaissance design through its combination of defensive elements and decorative features.

The current owners, Hugo Brugiere and his wife, began restoration work on the property in September 2023, maintaining its historical character.

The entrance pavilion displays a high roof with a sculpted pediment and lantern, reflecting the architectural sophistication of French castle design.
