Château de L'Échelle, Medieval castle in L'Échelle, France.

The castle features a quadrangular layout with circular towers at the southeast and northeast corners, complete with upper-level gun ports.

Antoine de La Marche des Contes became lord of L'Échelle through marriage to Anne de Maucourt in 1594, transforming the castle into its current form.

The northern wing houses the Museum of Yesterday's School, displaying educational artifacts and documents from past centuries.

Located at 3 Grand-Rue in L'Échelle, Ardennes department, the castle received its historical monument designation on July 19, 1926.

The square watchtower at the northwest corner stands as evidence of the architectural modifications made during the late 16th century.
