Château de Sassetot, Historic castle in Sassetot-le-Mauconduit, France.

The Château de Sassetot stands as an 18th-century castle featuring classical architecture with notable facades, roofing elements, an orangery, and a distinctive dovecote.

Construction of the castle began in 1772 under Jean-Robert Bigot's direction, and in 1872 Albert Perquer, a wealthy Le Havre shipowner, acquired and restored the property.

Empress Elisabeth of Austria, known as Sissi, spent three months at the castle in 1875 with 70 members of her court for her daughter Marie-Valerie's health.

The castle now functions as a hotel-restaurant, offering accommodations to visitors who wish to experience its historical setting and architectural elements.

The property received official recognition as a historical monument on May 20, 1975, specifically protecting its facades, roofing, orangery, and dovecote structures.
