Château de Lucey, Medieval fortified house in Lucey, France.

The castle stands on an elevation overlooking the Rhône River, between the river and Lake Bourget, on the western slopes of La Charvaz mountain.

Built in the 13th century on a Roman site, the castle belonged to Sigomon de La Forest, first recorded lord of Lucey in 1223.

The estate produces Savoie wines, including Roussette and red wines from Mondeuse, Pinot Noir, and Altesse grape varieties.

The wine estate, certified organic since 2013, welcomes visitors Monday through Saturday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM for wine tasting sessions.

The castle cellars store over 25,000 bottles and preserve ancient artifacts, including an altar dedicated to Mithras discovered on the site.
