Château de Tressé, Neoclassical château in Ombrée d'Anjou, France

Château de Tressé is a neoclassical castle with five stories featuring ornamental sculptures across its facades. The building sits within a 16-hectare wooded park that includes multiple terraced gardens and landscaped grounds.

Architect Liberge built the château between 1845 and 1848 for Joseph-Gilbert, the seventh Marquis de Preaulx. The new structure replaced a medieval manor that previously stood on the same location.

The chapel inside serves as a burial place for members of the Preaulx family who shaped the estate's history. Visitors can see how the chapel reflects the importance of this noble lineage to the region.

The property now serves as an event venue offering multiple reception areas and meeting rooms for various occasions. The grounds include a 1000-square-meter parking area equipped with electric vehicle charging stations.

During the mid to late 20th century, the château operated as a regional sanatorium and vocational training center before becoming a luxury hotel. This transformation shows how the building adapted to serve different purposes across generations.
