Château de Troissereux

Château de Troissereux is a Renaissance castle with an L-shaped layout built from white limestone and brick. The main building houses several rooms including a dining room, library, bedrooms, a boudoir, and a ceremonial staircase spread across different levels.

The castle began as a defensive fortification in the 15th century on the outskirts of Beauvais and reached completion during the 16th century. Its architecture was shaped by Italian influences brought by Sebastiano Serlio, who introduced new design concepts to French building practices.

The castle displays Italian design principles in its room layouts and decorations that remain visible today. The arrangement of spaces and furnishings shows how French nobility lived during the Renaissance period.

The grounds are best explored on foot since rooms and gardens spread across flat terrain. You can move between the indoor spaces and outdoor areas including the canal and tree plantings at your own pace.
