Château d'Estresse, Medieval castle in Astaillac, France.

The castle features a rectangular layout with two square towers and a central residential area supported by a 200-meter-long medieval wall.

The castle played a defensive role in 889 when King Eudes of France stopped Norman pirates from pillaging nearby villages along the Dordogne River.

The Roquet family, former bourgeois from Beaulieu who occupied the castle, held important consul positions in the town during medieval times.

The castle received official historical monument status in 1971, protecting its facades and roofing for preservation of architectural elements.

The defensive structure includes a bretèche extending on seven corbels and contains four small cannon ports above the main facade openings.
