Château d'Olivet, Medieval castle ruins in Grimbosq, France.

The fortified complex includes a central motte with a watchtower and two courtyards surrounded by dry stone walls and defensive ditches.

Built in the first half of the 11th century by Erneis Taisson, the castle remained active until the 12th century before its gradual abandonment.

Archaeological excavations between 1975 and 1978 uncovered aristocratic artifacts such as spurs and arrowheads, indicating medieval social activities.

The castle grounds remain open year-round, with an orientation table and information panels guiding visitors through the historical structures.

The castle's strategic position at the confluence of two streams made it an essential control point for territorial defense in medieval Normandy.
