Château du Chambon

Château du Chambon is a Renaissance castle in Bersac-sur-Rivalier featuring a main building with an L-shaped extension, two round towers at the rear, and a projecting watchtower on the front facade. The structure combines living spaces with defensive features in a balanced way that was common during that era.

Built in 1549 by Balthazar Deaulx during a period of major architectural change in France, the castle emerged as a significant residence. Its survival through the French Revolution relied on Anne Renée Desmarais, who protected it from destruction when many others faced ruin.
