Château de Roncourt, 18th-century manor house in Hagnéville-et-Roncourt, France
Château de Roncourt is an 18th-century manor house in Hagnéville-et-Roncourt with a rectangular plan and three levels. The building preserves original salons and a library with classical architectural features that define the estate.
The estate was granted to Étienne Menu in 1583 by Duke Charles III of Lorraine in recognition of his service. The family shaped the property over centuries, making it a significant country residence in the region.
The castle is set within a two-hectare park that includes a vegetable garden, orchard, and herb garden following French traditions. Visitors can observe how these green spaces are maintained and reflect the design principles that have been customary in this region for generations.
The castle underwent extensive renovations in 2006 and now functions as accommodation for visitors. The rooms are accessible and pathways through the park allow for a leisurely walk around the grounds.
The Church of the Assumption stands directly in front of the castle and creates an architectural ensemble with the surrounding cemetery. The graveyard contains tombs of the de Fleury family, whose history is intertwined with the estate.
