Château de Banne, Medieval castle ruins in Banne, France.
The remains of this castle stand above Banne village on a rocky peak and include ancient walls, a staircase, and preserved stables.
The Beauvoir du Roure family owned this castle from the 15th century until the French Revolution, when it was burned down on July 12, 1792.
The site hosts shows and exhibitions in the former stables through the Les Amis de Banne association, which has 70 members.
Visitors can reach the ruins via a path that leads up to a platform providing views over the Jalès plain.
The stones from the castle, sold after its destruction, were reused in various local constructions throughout the Ardèche department.
