Château de Bellegarde, Medieval castle in Bellegarde, France.

The castle features a central keep with corner turrets, constructed with a combination of brick and stone in the historical center of Bellegarde.

The structure evolved from a 12th-century fortified house into a Renaissance castle during the 16th century under the ownership of the l'Hospital family.

The castle houses a collection of forty plaster models created by sculptor Charles Desvergnes, who won the Grand Prix de Rome in 1889.

Guided tours for groups of 10 to 30 people last 90 minutes and require advance reservations at a cost of 3 euros per person.

The duke of Antin, son of Madame de Montespan, transformed the castle by adding two wings containing a chapel, reception rooms, and bathrooms.
