Marshal Michel Ney, a prominent military commander under Napoleon Bonaparte, was arrested at Château de Bessonies on August 3, 1815.

The castle maintains a dedicated museum space showcasing artifacts and furnishings related to Marshal Ney, including his chamber and personal library.

Guided tours of the castle require advance reservations and operate from April to November between 3 PM and 5 PM daily.

The chamber where Marshal Ney stayed contains original period furniture, including a Louis XVI canopied bed with yellow serge draping.
