Couvent du Carmel d'Angers, Catholic convent in La Doutre district, Angers, France.

The Couvent du Carmel d'Angers occupies a substantial stone building at 39 Rue Lionnaise, featuring traditional religious architectural elements and a central cloister.

Founded in 1626 and relocated to its current location in 1638, the convent became officially recognized as a historical monument in February 1963.

The community of eighteen Carmelite sisters maintains the tradition of producing communion hosts for the Diocese of Angers and surrounding parishes.

The convent offers spiritual guidance and retreat opportunities, with specific prayer services scheduled every Tuesday for local religious activities.

The convent survived the French Revolution despite temporary repurposing as an orphanage, prison, and hospital before the Carmelite sisters reclaimed it in 1855.
