Ferme de la forêt

Ferme de la Forêt is a historic farmhouse in Courtes now operating as a museum of rural life. The main building features a wooden gallery with an external staircase and a traditional chimney that runs vertically through both stories to the roof.

The farmhouse was built during the second half of the 16th century. It was transformed into a museum dedicated to rural life in 1971 and has preserved the region's heritage since then.

The collections inside show how people in the Bresse region once lived through everyday objects and household items. You can see the practical ways inhabitants organized their domestic and working spaces.
