The forêt de Machecoul is a private forest of 563 hectares east of Machecoul in Loire-Atlantique, listed as ZNIEFF 520006613 in the national natural heritage inventory. Its ground rises from 15 to 35 metres above sea level. It lies within the commune of Machecoul-Saint-Même, about 400 km south-west of Paris.

The forest's name entered popular memory through the 1973 film Mais où est donc passée la septième compagnie ?, in which Colonel Blanchet, played by Robert Lamoureux, tells his men to follow the forest's edge and shelter there. The film was actually shot in the Fontainebleau forest and the Paris region, and the 1940 fighting never reached this wood; Lamoureux reportedly borrowed the name from holiday memories.
