Halle aux toiles, Historical market hall in central Rouen, France
The Halle aux Toiles stands between Place de la Haute-Vieille-Tour and Place de la Basse-Vieille-Tour, featuring concrete vaults visible from its upper floor.
Originally built in the 12th century, this structure was destroyed during the 1944 Allied bombings of the Red Week and reconstructed identically after the war.
The building houses exhibitions, concerts, and festivals throughout the year, including classical music performances and special cultural events for the local community.
Visitors can access the venue via TEOR lines 1, 2, and 3, Fast lines F1 and F7, and Bus line 11, all stopping at République station.
The northern facade incorporates the Chapelle de la Fierte Saint-Romain, where historical prisoner release ceremonies took place during the Renaissance period.
