Jardins de Kerdalo, Historical garden in Trédarzec, France.

Jardins de Kerdalo is a large garden with a pond, multiple water basins, and terraced sections planted with exotic species across a valley landscape. The different elevation levels create distinct zones where water features and plant collections are organized throughout the property.

The garden was established in 1965 when an old farm was transformed into a manor house with facades rebuilt in 17th-century style. This foundation allowed for the gradual development of exotic plant collections and water features that grew over the following decades.

The garden blends English landscape design with Italian formal style through its water features and decorated grotto. As you walk through, you notice how these different traditions come together in the shell-adorned structures and garden layout.

The garden closes during winter months and reopens in April when conditions improve. Wear suitable footwear since paths wind through different elevation levels throughout the property.

Designer Christian Louboutin purchased the property in 2021 and maintains the collection of rare plant species that were gathered over decades. His private stewardship ensures the continued care and preservation of these botanical treasures for visitors today.
