Jardin de Kyiv, Urban park near Petit Palais, Champs-Élysées, France
The Jardin de Kyiv is a small urban green space with landscaped gardens adjacent to the Petit Palais. Chestnut trees line the paths along Cours la Reine, and multiple entrances connect it to the surrounding Avenue Winston-Churchill.
The site was created in 2005 originally as Jardin des Abords-du-Petit-Palais and received its current name in June 2023. This renaming followed the invasion of Ukraine and symbolizes Paris backing.
The garden carries its name as a sign of solidarity and shows how Paris expresses its connection to Kyiv through public spaces. Visitors find here a place of remembrance that honors Ukrainian resilience.
The site is accessible through metro lines 1 and 13 at Champs-Élysées-Clemenceau station. Visitors can enter from Avenue Winston-Churchill or Cours la Reine and explore the space on foot.
The official opening took place in August 2023 and brought together the mayor of Paris with his counterpart from Kyiv. This was one of the rare moments when the two cities directly affirmed their relationship through a ceremonial act.
