Souvigny Priory, Cluniac priory in Souvigny, France

The priory church features two transepts, three towers, and measures 84 meters in length with cross vaults reaching 17 meters in height.

Founded in 954 when Aymar de Bourbon donated land to Cluny Abbey, the priory became a major pilgrimage site after Saints Mayeul and Odilon were buried there.

The church contains multiple chapels, a Romanesque calendar pillar named the Zodiac of Souvigny, and serves as the burial place for Bourbon dynasty members.

Visitors can explore the preserved cloister, chapter room, porter's lodge, and examine the François-Henri Clicquot organ built in 1783.

The tombs of Saints Mayeul and Odilon, rediscovered in the early 21st century, remain at the center of the nave as testament to medieval pilgrimages.
