Tour de Château-Chervix, Medieval tower in Château-Chervix, France.

The rectangular keep reaches 32 meters in height with two-meter-thick walls made of schist and granite, featuring three distinct levels.

The Viscounts of Limoges built this tower in the 12th century to imprison their main opponents until its capture by the English.

The alternating machicolations added in the 14th century demonstrate the defensive architectural techniques developed in medieval Limousin.

The tower stands on Place du 8 Mai 1945 and allows external observation of its architecture every day of the year.

In 1553, Lord François de Coignac set fire to the castle after a murder, leaving only the keep standing.
