Église Notre-Dame Saint-Louis de la Guillotière, Catholic church in Guillotière district, Lyon, France.
Église Notre-Dame Saint-Louis is a church in Lyon's 7th arrondissement built in neoclassical style with a two-story main facade and Tuscan pilasters framing the central opening. Inside, the nave extends through six bays toward a semicircular choir at the far end.
Built between 1842 and 1847 by architect Christophe Crépet, the building replaced an earlier 1619 chapel dedicated to Notre-Dame de Grâce. The new structure represented the religious community's growth in this district during the 19th century.
Religious frescoes painted by Louis Bardey decorate the interior walls and give the space its visual character. These artworks remain a central feature of how visitors experience the building today.
The building sits at the corner of Rue de la Madeleine and Grande Rue de la Guillotière, making it easy to locate. Regular services and special holiday celebrations form the main schedule for visitors.
A symphonic organ from 1946 is housed within the building and stands as one of the finest musical instruments in the city. This instrument draws music enthusiasts and shapes the acoustic quality of the space.
