Église Saint-Jean-Baptiste

Église Saint-Jean-Baptiste is a church building organized with three naves, a transept, and a hemicycle apse all united under a copper-covered roof. The interior spaces are lit by windows and contain several architectural elements arranged throughout the different sections.

The current building replaced an earlier structure destroyed by fire in 1881, which prompted a complete reconstruction project. The new church incorporated architectural styles from that era and has stood since then.

The interior holds stained glass windows and side altars created between 1891 and 1896 that show how the local community expressed its faith through skilled craftsmanship. These decorated spaces still serve as a focal point for religious observance and neighborhood gatherings today.

You can visit during worship times and designated open hours when the main doors are accessible to explore the different areas inside. It is helpful to come during quieter periods to observe the interior details without interruption.

The facade combines smooth cut stone blocks with embossed masonry patterns that create visual texture on the outer walls. This blend of different stonework techniques gives the exterior a distinctive character unlike other buildings nearby.
