The Sorcerer, Cave with prehistoric art in Trois Frères, Ariège, France

The cave features more than 350 Paleolithic art figures depicting various animals, including horses, bison, ibex, and reindeer, along with abstract signs and symbols.

The three sons of Count Henri Bégouen discovered the cave in 1914, leading to extensive research by archaeologist Henri Breuil between 1920 and 1938.

Located four meters high in an interior cavity, The Sorcerer figure combines features of different animals, including deer antlers, a horse tail, and bear feet.

The cave forms part of a larger underground system connected with Enlene and Tuc d'Audoubert caves through natural passageways in the limestone rock.

The image of a grasshopper etched on a bison bone found in the cave represents the first known insect representation in prehistoric art.
