Moulin de Craca

Moulin de Craca is a grain mill in Plouézec on the Breton coast with walls covered in chestnut shingles and a height of about 11 meters (36 feet). The structure has a maximum diameter of about 6 meters (20 feet) and displays the typical design of a 19th century coastal mill.

Built in 1844, this mill was one of twelve mills operating in Plouézec at that time. It stopped working in 1928 when the last miller left, ending its role in grain production for the community.

The mill hosts an annual music festival in August where visitors can hear Breton and Irish songs performed with local food shared among guests. This celebration keeps alive the musical traditions of the region and brings together people interested in Celtic culture.

The mill sits close to the sea on elevated ground and offers views toward the bay below. Tours are regularly organized during the warmer months and led by local volunteers who care for the site.

Sailors once used the mill as a landmark when navigating into the Bay of Paimpol. Its location on high ground near the shore made it a useful reference point for ships traveling the coast.
