Abbaye de Selincourt

The Abbaye de Selincourt is a former abbey in Hornoy-le-Bourg whose original buildings now stand partially in ruins across its grounds. Stone walls and architectural fragments from different periods remain visible, with some preserved sections incorporated into the adjacent Sainte-Larme farm.

The abbey was founded in 1130 when local nobility provided land and monks established their community there. Over the following centuries it underwent changes in its religious leadership and structure before eventually being abandoned.

The abbey served as a pilgrimage destination, drawing visitors who came seeking spiritual connection and healing through sacred relics housed here. This role shaped how the surrounding community organized itself around religious observance and celebration.
