Gaillac Museum of Fine Arts

The museum occupies the Château d'Hutaud building, presenting permanent collections that span from Renaissance periods through to contemporary artistic expressions.

Established in 1934, the museum received the official designation of 'musée de France' in recognition of its role in preserving French cultural heritage.

The collection includes significant works from Firmin Salabert's 1895 bequest, along with pieces representing movements from neo-classicism to the Paris School of painters.

Located within walking distance from Gaillac train station, the museum charges €4 for adult admission and offers free entry for children under 12 years old.

In 2018, the museum collaborated with The Beijing Museum of Art to display 150 Chinese artworks, including calligraphy from the Qing Dynasty period.
