Réserve naturelle nationale du domaine de Beauguillot

The reserve encompasses diverse habitats including tidal flats, salt meadows, dunes, ponds, and wet grasslands along the Cotentin coast.

Established in 1980, the reserve expanded from 505 to 820 hectares in 2021 through ministerial decree to protect additional coastal areas.

Local farmers maintain traditional agricultural practices within designated areas of the reserve, contributing to natural habitat preservation.

Five bird observation points connected by trails provide access through various landscapes including orchid meadows, hedges, woods, and polders.

The site hosts France's second largest colony of harbor seals and serves as a winter refuge for 35,000 water birds annually.
