Utah Beach Museum

The Utah Beach Museum is a World War II museum in Sainte-Marie-du-Mont displaying military equipment, vehicles, artifacts, and photographs documenting the Allied invasion of Normandy. The collection covers events specific to this landing zone and the surrounding combat area.

The museum stands on the site of the former German strongpoint W5, where American soldiers of the 4th Infantry Division fought during the invasion. The location was chosen to preserve the historical importance of this defensive position.

The museum preserves personal testimonies, military uniforms, and archived films that document the experiences of soldiers and civilians during the liberation of France. These collections help visitors understand the human side of this period of conflict.

The museum is easily accessible from the parking area with wide pathways between exhibition spaces. Visitors should plan to spend two to three hours to explore the extensive collection thoroughly.

The museum houses one of the few remaining B26 Marauder bombers in the world, displayed in a dedicated glass structure overlooking Utah Beach. This aircraft offers visitors a rare glimpse into the aviation technology of that era.
