The Riviera Palace features a central rectangular building with a curved west wing and decorated facades with turquoise ceramics from Saïssi manufacture.
Built in 1897 by architect Abel Glena, the palace hotel contained 250 rooms and received numerous European nobility members during the early 20th century.
The building reflects the transformation of Menton from a fishing village to a luxury destination following the arrival of railroad transportation in 1869.
Located at 28 Avenue Riviera, the former hotel now functions as private apartments, with exterior viewing and guided tours available for visitors.
The property maintains a 1500-square-meter garden that contains century-old plants, including a banksia rose and a Montevideo guava tree.
