Monument national de la victoire de la Marne

The concrete monolith rises 35.5 meters high with pink aggregates from Moselle, featuring a winged figure at its summit and bas-reliefs at its base.

The monument commemorates the First Battle of the Marne in September 1914, where French forces halted German advancement toward Paris at this strategic location.

Annual ceremonies take place on the first Sunday of September, gathering military attachés, historians, veterans, and local residents to honor the battle's memory.

The monument and adjacent museum receive visitors throughout the year, with guided tours available through the Sézanne tourism office by appointment.

The foundations of this memorial extend 22 meters underground, making them nearly as deep as the visible structure is tall.
