Château du Sendat, Medieval castle in La Réunion, France

The castle combines circular towers from medieval times with structures from the 17th century, featuring an interior courtyard bounded by northern buildings.

Between 1851 and 1867, architect Felix Duban directed major renovations that transformed the castle while preserving elements from the 13th century.

Three notable families, the Montlezun, Montesquiou, and Morin, held ownership of the castle throughout its centuries of existence.

The castle holds both inscribed and classified monument status, with official recognition granted in 1996 and 2003 respectively.

Poton de Xaintrailles and La Hire stopped at this castle on their journey to join Joan of Arc in the 15th century.
