Château de Jours-lès-Baigneux

The castle stands on the left bank of the Planchotte stream, featuring Renaissance architecture with distinct pilasters, arcades, and a round tower.

Originally owned by the Brancion family, the castle was sold to Duke Hugh IV of Burgundy in 1259 and rebuilt between 1542 and 1566 by the Anglure family.

The castle's south-western facade was designed by architect Sebastiano Serlio, representing significant French Renaissance architectural principles of the 16th century.

The monument received historical classification status in 1964, protecting its facades, roofs, monumental staircase, and barrel vaults for preservation.

The entrance retains traces of an ancient drawbridge, while the northeast facade once displayed a coat of arms representing associated noble families.
