Parc de l'Auxois

Parc de l'Auxois is a zoo sprawling across more than 40 hectares with hundreds of animals including tigers, lions, cheetahs, and arctic wolves living in large enclosures. The grounds include walking paths that let visitors observe the animals from different viewpoints throughout the property.

In January 2024, the park accepted three lions that were rescued from poor conditions in Ukraine during wartime. This rescue marked a significant moment showing the facility's role in international animal welfare efforts.

The park allows visitors to observe large predators in spacious enclosures designed to resemble natural habitats rather than confined cages. The way animals live here reflects a different approach to how wildlife facilities care for their residents.

The park operates from February to November, with extended hours during summer months from April to September. Visitors should wear comfortable shoes and plan for plenty of walking time to explore the expansive grounds.

The facility includes a dedicated natural space of 5,000 square meters where rescued lions recover and adapt to their new surroundings. This area demonstrates how the park provides tangible support for animals that have experienced trauma.
