Château du Fresne, Historical castle in Authon, France
The main building features a Mansard roof with dormer windows and two pavilions, one housing a chapel and another for baths.
François-Joseph Legrand de Marizy commissioned the construction of the current château between 1766 and 1770, following designs by architect Anatole Amoudru.
The château represents French architectural excellence through its symmetrical design, emphasized front body, and classical structural elements.
Visitors can access the château during summer months, from June through August 15, to explore its historical architecture and grounds.
The chapel of Château du Fresne hosted the wedding ceremony of former French President Valéry Giscard d'Estaing to Anne-Aymone de Brantes in 1952.
