Église Notre-Dame de Favas

Église Notre-Dame de Favas is a small stone church with a single nave and a semicircular apse as its focal point. Three narrow windows with angled reveals cut through the walls, allowing light to filter into the simple interior space.

This church was founded in the 10th century as a religious center for the surrounding community. Over time, its walls absorbed architectural influences from different medieval periods, creating a layered structure that speaks to its longevity.

This religious structure represents one of three churches that belonged to the Favas seigneury, marking the religious heritage of the Var department.

Parts of the structure have deteriorated and sections have partially collapsed over the centuries. Visitors should approach carefully and watch for unstable areas when exploring the site.

The building features an unusual circular window and a broken arched doorway above what appears to be a bell wall. These details reveal the wear and damage the structure has endured through centuries of exposure.
